From the sun-soaked hills in Calabria, the toe of Italy's "boot," comes this extraordinary extra virgin olive oil from the Sinopolese olive. Grown almost exclusively in Italy, particularly in Calabria, the Sinopolese olive tree is prized for its relative resistance to cold weather, as well as the exquisite oil its olives produce. Its D.O.P. designation stands for "Denominazione d'Origine Protetta"--Protected Designation of Origin--a high honor in the country with the world's highest standards for olive oil, in an area renowned for its olive oil for thousands of years.
FLAVOR PROFILE:
Crushed within mere hours of being harvested, our Sinopolese extra virgin olive oil displays the best characteristics typical of its variety. The oil is a beautiful golden color, reminiscent of the Italian sun which shone down on these olives. With its creamy, buttery consistency and tantalizingly fruity aroma with notes of fresh-cut grass, our Sinopolese extra virgin olive oil will bring the sunshine of Calabria to any dish!
PAIRING SUGGESTIONS:
